Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia on Wednesday revealed plans to tender and award six water projects in 2019.
Over 40% of the offers for establishing these projects were submitted by global firms, Bloomberg News reported, citing the National Center for Privatization and public-private partnerships’ (PPP) statement.
The Saudi cabinet has recently approved offering tenders for seven wastewater and desalination investments, the center added.
The new projects, whose investment costs have not disclosed yet, are part of the kingdom’s privatisation drive, which began by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in 2016.
Saudi privatisation programme aims to diversify economy resources away from oil and raise revenues.
